Monday is the first day of school for students in West Virginia, and chances are many of those students are not looking forward to going back. But that's not the case for elementary students in Wayne county. They have a brand new seven-million dollar school welcoming them on their first day.
On the day before classes, the community of Wayne got a look at their brand new school with a brand new layout to learn.
It's an adjustment. It’s one that teachers welcome.
With all the new additions, one thing was left out. There is no money for recreation facilities, but the PTO is in charge of raising money and putting in new playground equipment.
The new elementary school cost more than $7 million dollars, and since the ground breaking, enrollment has gone up and two new classrooms had to be added on to the building.
