In the tri-state, heavy waves of rain flooded roads, viaducts, and trapped drivers. Some schools were dismissed early and Spring Valley, hit hard by flooding in July, was hit again. Two-to-Four inches of rain fell in just two hours.
In Kanawha County, viewers reported baseball-sized hail in areas north of Charleston. The hail shattered car windshields. A kennel flooded and several dogs had to be rescued. Schools transportation officials say three buses were unable to drop off students in the Sissonville area this afternoon because of high water.
