Head Start Health Concern

It's not a snack, but a disease that's the concern at one Kanawha Valley Head Start program.

The Kanawha-Charleston Health Department says a staff member at the Martin Luther King Center was infected with Hepatitis A.

No one else has been sick. But to make sure it doesn't spread, the Health Department offered free vaccines to teachers and students. Health experts say if you get a vaccine within two weeks of being exposed, you can keep from getting it.
