A spokesperson for Randy and Anna McCloy announced late Wednesday afternoon the couple is expecting. The baby is due in the spring.

“We could not be more thankful for the miracles that have touched our lives this year,” Anna McCloy said. “We realize that it is still early in the pregnancy but we understand good news travels fast, and our friends and family are so excited.”

McCloy was the only miner to survive an explosion at the Sago Mine in Upshur County in January this year. 12 men died in the blast. McCloy was rescued nearly two days later. He was in a coma for weeks. He's still undergoing rehabilitation at HealthSouth Regional Rehabilitation Hospital in Morgantown. McCloy also has a daily home fitness and strength building schedule.

The McCloys are already parents of Randal III, 5, and Isabel, 22 months.
