Police know him as a repeat offender. Now, a man is accused of breaking the law in another state while on probation for a similar crime here in Kanawha County. Deputies need your help to find him.

The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department has named James Akers Jr. one of Charleston's Most Wanted. He's accused of violating probation. Akers was convicted of breaking into a garage near Cedar Grove. While on probation, deputies say Akers pleaded guilty to charges of larceny and grand larceny in Essex County, Virginia. Now, police in both West Virginia and Virginia are looking for him.

"We can't say enough about people that are convicted of crimes and then given light sentences, and chance after chance after chance while they're on probation," said Lt. Sean Crosier with the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department. "In this case, this person allegedly refuses to abide by his probation requirements."

James Akers Jr. is 21 years old. His last known address in Saluda, Virginia, but police say he could be here in our region. If you have any information about Akers, call the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department at (304) 357-0169.
