After a week on the picket lines, union workers are going back to work. On Sunday night, members of the Steelworkers Union for Steel of West Virginia approved the new contract: 231 to 147.

They waited nine days for a resolution, and then, they waited for the results of their decision, but it’s not the outcome some workers expected.

We tried to get reaction from International Representative Carl Hall, but he did not want to talk.

A few points on the new contract include: a benefit reduction was taken off, workers now must pay healthcare premiums, and the current bereavement policy has changed from unlimited time off to three days for immediate family.

Workers are expected to go back on the job on Tuesday. The first shift goes in at 11:00 on Monday night for the early morning shift.
