Two women from Kanawha County have pleaded not guilty to obstructing a Mingo County murder investigation.
Jury selection is underway Tuesday afternoon for Wanda Carney and Betty Jarvis.
The two women are accused of concealing evidence and making defamatory statements about West Virginia State Police during their investigation of the Carla Collins murder.
Jarvis is an aunt of one of the people who pleaded guilty in the case and Carney is with West Virginia Wants To Know.
The two have criticized the state police handling of the case.
A grand jury indicted the two on misdemeanor charges and the trial will begin on Thursday.
