SEPTEMBER 6, 2006--A date has been set for Charleston 4th of July fireworks. The city rescheduled the show for Saturday, October 7, at Haddad Riverfront Park. The July 3rd show was canceled due to a inclement weather.
The fireworks will go along with the Charleston Doo-Wop & Rod Run Classic car show, which is scheduled October 5-8 on Kanawha Boulevard. Entertainment is planned for the stage at Haddad on the seventh.
The fireworks company, Premier Pyrotechnics out of St. Louis, agreed to reschedule the show at the company's expense, according to Rod Blackstone, assistant mayor of Charleston.
The company still plans to shoot the fireworks off the South Side Bridge.
