Monday marks the five year anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks. And on that day, first responders became heroes as they risked their own lives to save others.

On Sunday, members of Logan United Methodist Church showed their appreciation for the workers.

First responders received a well-deserved thank you from the members of Logan United Methodist Church.

They know that each day brings a new challenge, and each day could be their last. The brave men and women are always ready to sacrifice it all to protect. And the community showed them that it appreciates their courage. They’re saying prayers for people willing to risk it all at a moment's notice to save us.

The church presented lapel pins of the American flag to all of the first responders at the end of the ceremony.
