A Ukraine-based company is about to start production at an alloys plant in Mason County that it purchased early this year.
The New Haven-area plant is Felman Production's first U-S operation.
Felman, a subsidiary of the Privat Group, bought the former Highlander Alloys plant for approximately $20 million in January.
The 54-year-old plant had been out of production since a fire last October caused significant damage to the facility and its furnaces.
The fire was the latest in a string of financial problems for former owner Boris Bannai, who bought the plant in 2002.
Since Felman purchased the facility, the company has employed 135 people in reconstructing the plant and the electric arc furnaces.
The company plans to employ 220 people by the end of 2007.
The plant will resume production of ferroalloys, which are used in the production of steel.
Governor Joe Manchin says Felman has made an extraordinary contribution to Mason County and to West Virginia.
