Mahayla's father faces charges on drug possession, vehicular assault, and driving under the influence, but he hasn't been arrested yet. We're told he went to voluntary rehab.
"A little girl is in the hospital in pain because a person who should have been protecting her was on drugs," Brooks’ friend Nichole McKay said.
Now Brooks and her friends are working to get signatures.
"We're petitioning to get courts to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law," McKay said.
"I won't stop until I see him in prison,” Brooks said. “He's going to have to do time."
