Jury Finds Local Pastor Guilty of Sexual Abuse

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Kanawha County pastor accused of sexual abuse has been found guilty on sixteen counts.
The jury returned the verdict against Sandy Cook at around 3:40 p.m. Friday. It only took jurors about four hours to deliberate.
Sandy Cook is charged with sexual abuse by a parent or guardian and third degree sexual assault.
Police say Cook sexually abusing several teenage boys at his home and in his truck back in 1994.

The fate of a local pastor from Kanawha County is in the hands of a jury.
Sandy Cook is charged with sexual abuse by a parent or guardian and third degree sexual assault.
Cook is accused of sexually abusing several teenage boys at his home and in his truck back in 1994.
The jury has heard four days of testimony, including from Sandy Cook himself.
Both sides presented their closing arguments Friday morning and the jury started deliberating shortly after.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Jury selection is underway in the case against a local pastor from Kanawha County facing sexual abuse charges.
Sandy Cook is charged with sexual abuse by a parent or guardian and third degree sexual assault.
Cook is accused of sexually abusing several teenage boys at his home and in his truck back in 1994.
Jury selection got underway around 11:00 a.m. Monday morning in Judge Irene C. Berger's courtroom.
