FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- Kentuckians could soon be sporting "In God We Trust" automotive license plates.
House lawmakers unanimously approved a measure on Monday that would create the license plate that Gov. Steve Beshear had called for last summer. The measure now goes to the Senate for consideration.
Meanwhile, Senate lawmakers approved measures that would require the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to create license plates sporting "Think About God" and "In God We Trust" for faith-based organizations that requested them. Those measures now go to the House.
The Beshear administration is supporting the House bill. It would make the plates available at no extra charge as an alternative to the standard "Unbridled Spirit" plates.
The measures are House Bill 24, Senate Joint Resolution 69 and Senate Joint Resolution 70.

The reason why they don't use other religions is because our country is a christian country just read all our documents George Washington, Johns Adams etc were all christians and depended on God for guidence. We have a right to have In God We Trust on our license plates. I am so tired of having all these foreign religions Islam and Muslims coming to our country and want to take over our government we better turn back to God before our country is destroyed from within.
First ammendment- Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion. .... This also applies to state governments through the due process clause in the 14th ammendment. The license plate issue is a case for the U.S. supreme court.
someone said gov money has no right making this license plate.this is not gov.money its tx payer money.as for license plates with pro obortion, homosexuality, muslim, etc.this country and the founding fathers was built on judeo, christians beliefs.i dont care how anybody lives their life as long as they make their own living and obey the laws of the land, dont steal, murder rape, child molestetc.so u see im not forcing my morality on u ,i just expect any person to obey the laws,we cant have a stable society without it.
