WASHINGTON, D.C (WSAZ) -- Rep. Nick Rahall announced today that housing programs in Huntington have been awarded $1,597,596 in funding from the federal government.
The money comes from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Continuum of Care programs for homeless housing and support initiatives in the Huntington area.
According to a release, The Cabell-Huntington Coalition for the Homeless was awarded $537,268 for their Project Hope project and supportive services.
While at Project Hope, families are taught basic living skills, how to budget and parenting skills.
The Huntington West Virginia Housing Authority was awarded $1,063,328 for their Homeless Management Information System and the Shelter Plus Care Program, which provides housing and supportive services on a long-term basis for homeless persons with disabilities such as serious mental illnesses, chronic substance abuse problems, or AIDS victims who are financially unable to provide suitable housing for themselves and their families.

there already is help avil. for theese people, if hey really wanted to they could get housing assistance, clean themselves up and go out and get a job at fast food to start out with, and move on up from there. this country offers so many oppurtunities already, all because they may have had a rough life doesnt mean they shouldent have to do anything to help themseves. i belive God helps those that help themselves. now for the disabled homeless thats another story, they really do need help. but to the others who are capiable of working, they have no excuse...
dont you all know homelessness in america ended on january 23 2009. this problem only exists when republicans are in the white house.
100sof million of txpayer dollars has been already spent on these projects.most of these people dont want help they just want to b left alone.you or i might not want to live like that ,but some do.what should b done, lock them up in an apartment and hold them against their will.if they,re notbothering any body, leave them alone.this is just another ploy to put the socialist rayhall in the spot light.why doesnt he personally give part of his fortune directly to these people,u never hear these politicans believeing in that...just your money..they say you,re unpatriotic if you dont want to pay more txs.but leave their fortune alone, they really believe and think u believe that they,re really public servants and they care for this great country.they are the ones in the process of destroying it.....
