CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- After three days of testimony, a jury has found a man from Charleston guilty in a shooting that blinded another man.

Jamel Mitchell was arrested and charged with malicious wounding after police say he shot Aaron Williams last January near Laidley Field.

Williams was treated for multiple gunshot wounds to the face and neck. He was left blind.

The jury just returned to the courtroom with the verdict at about 4:30 p.m.

There is always two sides to a story and only god knows what really happend. i give much sympathy to the man whom lost his sight but who are we to judge based on one persons side! I dont think that the sentence was fare at all!! You get less for taking a life. But you get many years for crimes that dont compare to murder. People should really look at this and think!! What is the world comming to! when they dont give second chance to mistaks, but they spare one walking the streets when they actually took a life!! What sense dose this make? Is justice really being served or is it just being played upon?

That 's good that he will serve time over this crime. It's sad that the other person can't see again.Every day while he is locked away he will remember what he has done. That would be hard to think about, even if you were not at fault.
