CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - On Sunday, the burning law in West Virginia started. From now until May 31st, you can only burn debris during the hours of 4 p.m. until 7 a.m.
Fires that burn brush can only be started after 4 p.m. and must be extinguished by 7 a.m. A spokesperson with the West Virginia Division of Forestry says outdoor burning is restricted to evening hours when cooler temperatures, increased humidity and calmer winds reduce the likelihood of fires spreading.
In Kentucky and Ohio, the hours are six in the morning until 6 in the evening.
Any violation of the outdoor-burning restrictions, including allowing a fire to escape containment, may result in a misdemeanor charge, a fine of up to $300 plus liability for costs of fighting the fire and the damage caused by the fire to property.

KY Open Burning only permits burning from 6pm - 6am and all fires must be a min. of 150ft away from any woodline or brushline. However, check with local departments due to some areas ban any type of burning period.
This article is very confusing and not informative at all! If I read the first paragraph, I will burn only from 7AM to 4PM. If I read the second paragraph, I will only burn after 4PM. This writer needs to take a course in getting the story right. This information is of no benefit whatsoever and should be re-done by a professional writer.
Buring hours 7 AM to 4 PM and then the article says 4 PM to 7 AM! That sort of makes the burning hours 24 hours a day. What a conflict of writing!
