Fatal Accident on Rt. 119

Three people are dead following a fiery two-vehicle accident Monday morning in Mingo County.

State Police say a northbound pickup truck crossed the median of
U.S. Highway 119 at Simmons Branch at about 9:30am and collided
head on with a sport utility vehicle. Police say both vehicles burst into flames about one mile south of the county line between Mingo and Logan counties.

Carol Marcum of Lenore was driving the SUV. Brenda Sue Simpkins, also from Lenore, was the passenger in the pickup. The name of the the truck driver hasn't been released.
