His partner was shot in the line of duty. Now, Captain Tim Tucker is set to resign from the Charleston Police Department.
Wednesday morning, the city's pension board decided to allow Tucker to take early retirement. Back in June, a criminal investigation found Captain Tucker was not carrying a gun the night Sgt. Eric Johnson was shot.
Johnson returned to the Charleston Police force in July.
