CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs said it is conducting an investigation at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Beckley.
While a spokeswoman for the agency in Washington, D.C., did not specify the focus of the investigation, she said that "allegations of harassment or potential abuse" are taken seriously.
Debbie Voloski, a spokeswoman at the Beckley VA Hospital, confirmed an investigation into "certain issues." She also declined to discuss the nature of the investigation.
A spokeswoman for Senator Jay Rockefeller said the senator's office had been informed last month of what she called serious allegations of employee misconduct at the hospital.

If someone is abusing the patients or their "power" they will just be moved to another area of VA not terminated like the rest of the world would be if they abused someone in the system.
I have been a patient at the Huntington VA since 1985. When I statred there the care was not as it should be. Now, I would put it against any hospital, Doctor's office, Lab or Speciality in the tri-state area. Alot of the complaints come from drug seekers who are unable to get pain medication as they want. The VA has strict guidlines about passing out pain medications. Count the compliments vs. the complaints and you will see the quality of care is unmatched anywhere. I have insurance and can afford to go anywhere fo rmy healthcare and I choose the VA.
The article does not specify that the "allegations of harrassment or potential abuse" are towards patients.
