HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Police are are now releasing a shooting suspects name after a shooting Tuesday afternoon.
The Suspect is 26-year-old Antonio Michael Smith is wanted on attempted murder charges.
Smith has lived in the area for a few years according to police.
HPD tells us Smith has a long history, including two active warrants for unlawful wounding. Police tell us those charges stem from domestic disputes.
They also tell us some of his illegal activity has been out-of-state and involved drugs.
HPD is considering Smith armed and very dangerous.
The shooting happened shortly after noon Tuesday.
Police say the victim is Howard LeMaster, 45, was shot several times inside the residence.
LeMaster is in serious condition at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
Police say the shooting happened inside 235 Adams Avenue. They say after LeMaster was shot several times, he phoned a friend. That person called police when he found LeMaster shot.
Police say Smith and LeMaster knew each other, but don't have a motive for the shooting at this time.
Smith might have fled the scene in either a black or dark sedan with large chrome wheels. Police are describing it as a large sedan. The car may have West Virginia tags or temporary tags.
Officers say the Smith was armed with a handgun and is assumed dangerous, so do not approach him just call police.
