POCA, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Rite Aid is laying off some of its workers at the distribution center in Poca.
A company spokesperson tells WSAZ.com five truck drivers were told on May 11 that their jobs would be terminated. They were full time employees.
"The layoffs are in response to changes in the store's service and delivery strategy," Cheryl Slavinsky, public relations director said.
The company hoped the layoffs would be temporary, but with the recent changes they were made permanent.
The employees that were laid off have recall rights. That means if the situation changes, they will be the first to be called back to work.
The truck drivers' last day on the job will be May 23.
