NOVEMBER 15, 2006 -- A man was arrested on his second DUI charge Tuesday after attending a court hearing regarding his first DUI charge.
Stephen Skiles of Charleston appeared at the DMV in Kanawha City to appeal the suspension of his driver's license.
During the hearing, police say they smelled alcohol on Skiles' breath and said he "spoke with slurred speech and had bloodshot, glassy eyes."
After the hearing was over, the hearing examiner told Skiles not to drive. Minutes later, Sgt. Shawn Williams says he saw Skiles drive past him in the parking lot. Williams pulled Skiles over and performed several sobriety tests, of which he says Skiles failed.
Skiles is again charged with driving under the influence.
