Several health care providers in Huntington are joining forces to end all smoking at their facilities.
The leaders of St. Mary's Medical Center, Cabell Huntington Hospital and Marshall University Medical Center announced the plan Thursday morning.
They want to stop all smoking, even outside their buildings.
However, they want to do this in a phased way, taking a year.
During that time, they'll also step up their efforts to provide smoking cessation classes and products.
A year from now it will even be against the rules to have smokeless tobacco products at any of the hospitals.
