NOVEMBER 17, 2006 -- WSAZ has learned that 20 colleges, excluding Marshall University, across the country will see "We Are Marshall" before the movie's official premiere.
According to a group called "Smile State" on Facebook, a social networking website targeted toward college students, will be showing the movie to students at these selected schools for free.
The 20 schools include: Alabama, Arizona State, Auburn, Cincinnati, Florida, Illinois, Michigan State, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UC Santa Barbara, University of Michigan, Virginia Tech, Washington.
The website says that only these 20 schools are included in the free movie screenings.
WSAZ's Dave Benton is over at Marshall University right now. He's talking to the administration about why Marshall isn't included in this program.
