The holiday season is a food lover's favorite time of the year, but it's not a good time for their waist lines! This holiday season, many Americans will gain about five to ten pounds.
Tim Swann says he's not worried about packing on the pounds during the holiday season.
“I'm at the gym five to six days of the week, and I do cardio two to three days,” said Swann.
But not every one has his dedication, especially during the holiday season.
That extra plate of turkey or that extra slice of apple pie will cause the average American to gain about five to ten pounds.
Krista Blanton is the new owner of Valley Fitness Center in Putnam County. She says people stop coming to the gym during the holidays.
“People get busy, they have things to attend to, dinner to attend, office parties, and some people slack, but they start back up in January,” said Blanton.
But she says sticking with a work out plan now will save you the heartache later.
“Usually, we see a lot of people come in about January, but for them to help ahead of that, they need to watch they eat and exercise some way everyday,” said Swann.
But some people would like to save the idea of working out for their New Year's resolution.
If you want to avoid putting on the extra weight, Valley Fitness Center will be offering a two week free trial membership starting on December 1st.
