Assistant Attorney General Dies from Apparent Overdose

Police say an assistant in the West Virginia Attorney General's office died from an overdose.

Janie Peyton was found by her husband in their South Charleston home on Thanksgiving day. Police say it appears she died from an overdose of methadone, but they're still waiting to get the autopsy report.

Peyton worked in the Attorney General's Worker's Compensation Division. She also had been a clerk for State Supreme Court Justice Larry Starcher.
