The holiday season can be especially tough if you don't have enough money to pay for the basic necessities such as food and clothing. But a Charleston church has been helping those people down on their luck during Christmas for 80 years.
Mountain Mission Church is trying to make sure no one goes hungry during Christmas.
Mountain Mission held a benefit concert for its 80th Christmas Food Program. Last year, the church raised $80,000 dollars. The money was used to feed more than a thousand families for several days.
Mountain Mission Church members believe it's their purpose to help others. It’s a place for people to turn when they think they're all alone.
Mountain Mission offers several other programs for the needy throughout the year. It offers emergency assistance programs for different things such as rent, clothing and medicine.
