A Putnam County Sheriff's Deputy was killed late Tuesday night, driving home from a friend's house. Putnam County Sheriff Mark Smith says 24-year-old deputy Larry Edward Miller was off duty and driving home on Jerry's Run Road in Mason County about 11 pm.

Miller's pickup truck collided with another truck, driven by 28-year-old Curtis Kimble, of Milton. Kimble was flown to Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington and is listed in stable condition Wednesday night.

Miller, who had worked in the sheriff's office a little over three years, was also a part-time Winfield police officer and volunteer firefighter.

The Mason County Sheriff's office is investigating the accident.
