CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Charleston Police have arrested and charged three adults with child endangerment resulting in injury. Neighbors say they lived in the same house as the 14-year-old who was charged with murder of an elderly woman Wednesday.
55-year-old Carolyn Mallo, 67-year-old Alexander Doran, and 27-year-old Trina Mallo were arrested Thursday morning at their home on Frame Street on the city's west side.
Both Mallo and Doran told the Magistrate they had a child who was 14 years old.
Sergeant S.A. Cooper tells WSAZ.com that the house they were living in has been condemned and two children, a six-year-old and a seven-year-old, have been taken into state custody. Cooper called the conditions inside the home "deplorable."
The children taken from the home Thursday morning belonged to Trina.
Humane officers also confiscated numerous dogs, cats, and ferrets from the home.
All three are in jail on $25,000 cash bond. They are scheduled to be back in court on June 26th.
Cooper says other charges are pending. Keep clicking on WSAZ.com for more information.
