Salt trucks were out and about Thursday afternoon.
The snow started mid-morning in Cabell County, looking wild and fierce for a short time as it fell.
But road surface temperatures were a few degrees above the freezing mark.
And state and local road crews here say the white stuff has to stick before they get out and treat the highways and byways.
