CROSS LANES, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Things are getting back to normal Monday at a local summer camp in Kanawha County.
Tyler Mountain YMCA in Cross Lanes closed last week after dozens of possible swine flu cases were reported. The camp has already had three confirmed cases.
Health officials say it can take up to four days for the symptoms of the virus to show, so the YMCA decided to close the camp to keep the virus from spreading.
A spokesperson with the YMCA tells WSAZ.com the facility was thoroughly cleaned over the weekend. The campers' parents were also asked on Monday to fill out a questionnaire to make sure their children weren't experiencing any of the virus' symptoms. The "Y" also took the children's temperatures.
John Giroir says attendance appears to be back to normal at the summer camp.

As a parent, it is such a relief to know that the “Y” sprung into action as soon as the swine flu cases were verified. Imagine how more widespread the illness would have become had the “Y” not closed and sanitized the premises. By taking action as soon as the children exhibited symptoms. The YMCA really does live up to its time-honored reputation.
First of all thanks a lot for the useful information. It is really sad indeed that due to the swine flu a summer camp was closed for a week. On the other hand I think, that people, especially children should avoid to be in contact with other persons because then they have the bigger risk to catch a swine or stomach flu. Our health is the most important thing in the life so we should try to save it. I hope that after several months we have a contact with other people and our friends could without any fear. Thanks a lot one more time for the interesting post and I will be waiting for other great news from you in the nearest future.
