CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- A Kanawha County woman accused of killing her estranged husband at a hospital has been indicted on a first-degree murder charge.
The county grand jury charged 53-year-old Rhonda Kay Stewart of Elkview on Tuesday.
Police say Stewart entered Charleston Area Medical Center Memorial Hospital on June 13 and shot 56-year-old Sammy Stewart as he lay in the intensive care unit.
According to the criminal complaint, Rhonda Stewart then left the room and gave the handgun to a doctor.
She is being held at South Central Regional Jail.
