Cam Mining Announces Layoffs
Cam Mining Announces More Layoffs at Pike County Mine. Reporter: WSAZ News StaffEmail Address: news@wsaz.com |

PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- More coal miners are out of a job after layoffs at Cam Mining in Pike County on Wednesday.
This comes four months after Cam laid off hundreds in March.
Company officials will not release how many were let go today or release any details for the layoffs.
Earlier this year they said weak market conditions led them to make cutbacks.
Dozens of miners and truck drivers at several different Cam Mines say they got layoff notices this morning and the letter says it is permanent.
The miners are filing for unemployment and are eligible for job training and other services at Kentucky Office of Employment sites.

Job loss...Been there. Done that. Yep, still 'there'. My heart goes out to those still getting 'pinked'. For me, losing my job was one of those defining moments in life. I knew I had a choice: I could choose to lose my way (my mind) or rise to the challenge and follow what my Spirit tells me to do, always remembering that I am more than a statistic on the news. I'll share with you what I was told the day I got "set free" (laid off) from my job: "This is a new chapter in your life. WRITE ONE HELL OF A CHAPTER!" And I did just that! Will you? So if you just need a break from the doom and gloom, let me send you a FREE (no strings, really!) book download.
