The Putnam County Commission retired the unit number used by Deputy Larry "Eddie" Miller, II.
Deputy Miller, a 3 year veteran of the Putnam County Sheriff's Department, was assigned unit 35.
Miller died December 6 while he was driving home near Apple Grove in Mason County.
His vehicle collided head on with a vehicle driven by Curtis Smith of Milton.
Police are still waiting on several reports to determine the cause.
