KSP: Trooper Killed Wasn't Wearing Seatbelt

The Kentucky State Police says the trooper killed in a crash in Pike County Tuesday evening wasn't wearing his seatbelt.

The accident happened on Route 119 in Sidney.

The state police says Trooper Jonathan Leonard, a three year veteran of the force, was traveling south on Route 119 when he "attempted to change direction of travel and turned into the path of a 2004 Geo Tracker."

Eugence Sisco Jr. was driving the Tracker. He was taken by helicopter to the hospital.

State Police say their accident reconstruction team is continuing to investigate the crash.
