Leonard's funeral is set for Saturday morning at 11:00 at the new Belfry High School.

Jonathan Leonard was a 3 year veteran of the state police at the Pikeville post.

The other man in the accident, Eugene Sisco is recovering in Lexington, Kentucky.

Investigators say Trooper Leonard turned in front of Sisco, not realizing his car was there.

Sisco was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center, where he is recovering and has a message for Jonathan Leonard's family.

Mary Ann, Sisco's wife, said "We're thrilled he's made the progress that he has. He's really a fighter and he's proved that 14 years ago when he received a kidney transplant."

Since his transplant, Sisco spent time raising awareness about organ donations.

He also works for disabled children and anti-drug programs.

Work that's made quite a few friends.

Mary Ann, said, "They have been extraordinary. Everyone in Pike County and across the state. Prayers from everyone. The prayer list probably stretches out of the state. So, I know the prayers are what have gotten Eugene to this point."

Sisco is now talking and improving.

A drastic change from those first critical hours after Tuesday's accident.

Mary Ann said, "Once he got to the hospital he knew that when they put him in the ambulance that the trooper was dead at the scene. No matter whose fault it is,- there was a loss of life. and that's always hard. We talked to him and asked him if there's anything he wanted us to say. He said it was a tragic accident but he wanted Jonathan Leonard's family to know his prayers and his thoughts are with them. We know how fortunate we are to still have Eugene with us. He'll probably have a long road to heal but his will is very strong and we're very thankful for that. Just keep the prayers coming."
