LUCASVILLE, Ohio (WSAZ) -- During a two-day marijuana eradication, investigators found 500 plants and caught someone trying to get away with a plant.
The Scioto County Sheriff's Office, Portsmouth Police, Southern Ohio Drug Task Force, Ohio BCI, Special Response Team from the Ohio Correctional Facility and officers from the State of Ohio Division of Parks and Recreation took part in a two-day operation.
They say they found 500 plants across Scioto County.
Sheriff Marty Donini says on Monday, September 16, officers were conducting an aerial search, when they saw someone take a plant and run from officers. Officers say Marion Stiers, 30, of Lucasville, threw the plant into the Scioto River before being arrested. Stiers was wanted on a failure to appear warrant.
