About 9 million people will travel by air during the Christmas and New Year's period. Earlier this week, bad weather in the west caused a lot of people to miss flights.

About 10 to 12 thousand travelers will make their way through Yeager Airport in Charleston during the Christmas and New Year's period.

All airlines at Yeager had a full staff on Saturday, to make sure travelers made it where they were going on time. And so far, travelers at Yeager haven't experienced any long delays.

Minh Li had been traveling since early Saturday morning, but he's not traveling to see relatives. He came from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to meet for the first time his new furry friend from the Nonnenmacher family.

“I'm here to pick up this lucky fellow right here,” said Li. I’m bringing him home for Christmas for someone for a gift.”

Li is headed back home with his new dog tonight, just in time to put him under the tree for his girlfriend for Christmas.
