Boone County Homicide

A fight at a bar in Boone County got out of control. Now, one man is dead, and another is behind bars. It happened at Sterno's Bar and Grill in Ashford on Saturday night. According to witnesses, Jason Scott Gillispie hit Walter McDerment multiple times in the head with a pool stick.
When police arrived, McDerment was lying on the floor. He was taken to CAMC where he later died. On Sunday morning, police arrested Gillispie at his home on Alum Creek. He’s accused of murder and has been taken to the South Central Regional Jail.
The case remains under investigation.
