Update on Monday at 5:50pm
CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Authorities say a missing teenage girl has been found safe and sound in the Huntington area.

Bethany Eplan was reported missing Monday morning by her parents.

Original Story
CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Police officers from several agencies are searching for a missing teenager from the Harveytown area of Cabell County.

Police say 13-year-old Bethany Eplan was reported missing after her parents noticed her gone around 9:30 a.m.

Deputies from the Wayne County Sheriff's Department, the West Virginia State Police and ATF agents combed the area looking for the teen Monday afternoon. They say neighbors also joined the search and found two backpacks that belonged to Bethany, along with her purse, a shoe and a jacket. All the items were found strewn along the road and creek between the girl's home and the interstate bridge underpass in Harveytown.

Detectives say finding her things leaves several possibilities.

"It could mean a number of different things," Detective Chester Maynard with the Wayne County Sheriff's Department told WSAZ.com. "It could mean she was abducted, it could mean she wants somebody to think she was abducted, it could mean she wanted to leave her stuff behind, I just don't know."

Foresty officials brought a bloodhound and State Police provided a K9 to help in the search.

It's easy for these little girls PABLO to get on the pc and bad mouth and threaten. They have no idea what life is really about. Bethany, your comment does not have the love in it that God would want you to show these people. So I highly doubt that you understand anything about Him or His Son. You as well as all of us should get on our knees thanking God that you are safe. I really feel that you should be legally bound to pay back to the community the money that was used to look for you. I hope you get the help you and your family need. P.S. Jesus Christ isn't going to kill anyone when he returns who believes in Him, He is going to take them to Heaven.

I do not know why Anon thinks she is anon. because if I know she is a she then it is not anon. Pablo you really don't know how I am going to die. I am going to die when Jesus comes back. If I don't die when Jesus comes back then I will die of natural causes. Autumn, you didn't know where I was. Ps. See u at church tomorrow! Sherri you are awesome and I'm glad you let KK go to church with me and Jayne. And I would like to say that if ANYONE bothers my family and friends then they will have to go through me!

Your right wow how can police or CPS put a child in a abusive home. Hey look obviously someone saying abuse and there being abuse is entirely different things. So it was reported abuse so they had to investigate and man to YOUR surprise none of the children are abused and get this All the children love there parents. SO lets see kids at home investigation took place MMM must mean there is nothing to report so there right back at you. I personally I know the family, and all kids would be lucky to have parents to love them as much as they do there kids. Abused and neglected. All of them have there own TVs and computers and love the parents very much. I and the children can tell you when their father worked 3 jobs to see that they had what was needed and wanted. To slander may god have mercy on your soul come judgment day. Judge not for you shall be judged. If it had been a neighbor this whole family would have been one of the first to have joined the search for them. SO leave them alone.
