Boone County Bar Closed

The owner Sterno's Bar and Grill in Ashford has surrendered its liquor license to the Alcohol Beverage Control Administration.

It was the scene of two violent crimes during the past weekend.

On Saturday, police say Jason Gillispie used a pool cue to beat and kill Walter McDerment, Junior.

Then on Monday, Gillispie's father, John Gillispie, and three other men got into a fight with Michael Chapman.

Chapman had a gun and during the fight, it went off.

Gillispie was hit in the arm.

Chapman is a corrections officer at the South Central Regional Jail and has been suspended without pay while deputies continue their investigation.
