A massive fire in downtown Clendenin damaged multiple businesses and caused one building to collapse.

It started around 6:00pm on Friday evening. Firefighters first responded to a fire at the Sav-A-Lot grocery. Then just when crews were finished with the fire there, they received a call about another fire at the Dollar General store.

The Dollar General building is a total loss, and arson is suspected.

Fortunately, no one was injured in these fires.

There is an advisory for people who live in Clendenin from the water company; they want residents to boil your water until further notice.
