A new housing and office complex has been proposed for a site east of the State Capitol.
It would be along Kanawha Boulevard and Washington Street East, between Cheasapeke Avenue and East Street.
There would be about 60 units for housing, including condominiums and apartments for seniors and possibly students from the University of Charleston.
Several of the buildings will be taller the 35 foot maximum and will need a variance.
A date has not been set for the Charleston Planning Commission to vote on the project.
