Wal-Mart filed an application for a building permit today. The new store will be built right next to Riverside High School in Quincy. While this will help provide some economic growth for the county, not everyone is happy with the company's decision.

There are concerns tonight about how the store will affect the Quincy community and if it will put surrounding stores out of business.

Construction is not set to begin on the Quincy Wal-Mart until August. It's expected to be ready for shoppers in March 2008. Right now, the closedt Wal-Mart to Quincy is the Corridor G location, about a half hour's drive away.
