COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - The first person on the scene said he heard a woman screaming inside a pickup truck that was involved in a fiery crash with a State Highway Patrol cruiser.
A transcript of the man's desperate 9-1-1 call is part of the patrol's final report on the September 28th accident that killed two troopers and the woman driving the truck.
The cruiser apparently hydroplaned on standing water while going more than 60 miles an hour with its lights and siren on.
The patrol initially said Trooper Joshua Risner was drunk behind the wheel of the cruiser but later reversed itself. The new report includes a federal laboratory's finding that the alcohol found in Risner's bloodstream was merely the result of decomposition.
