CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A Charleston man who pleaded guilty to first-degree murder for killing his wife has been sentenced to life in prison with mercy.
The mercy sentence means 35-year-old Clarence Ilderton the Third will be eligible for parole consideration after 15 years.
Ilderton pleaded guilty this morning before Judge Paul Zakaib and was sentenced immediately -- after waiving the presentencing recommendation report.
Ilderton strangled 35-year-old Robin Ilderton in October of 2005.
