UPDATE 7/31/10 11 p.m.
NITRO, W.Va. (WSAZ) – One year later, a murder in Nitro remains unsolved.

Friends and family met Sunday night at the Cross Roads Village Apartment Complex where last year 23-year-old Domenick Guidry was gunned down.

Every candle lit Sunday evening was a tribute to a man friends say was taken too soon and a call for justice to get his killer off the streets.

"The pain is still going to be there regardless because we can't bring him back,” Guidry’s friend Mindy McCrary said, “but the thought that whoever did this is just walking around on the streets living their life, and Dom's life was taken, it's just sickening."

The Carson, California native was set to graduate from West Virginia State University in December.

Guidry's friends want anyone who has information that could be helpful in leading to an arrest to share it with police.

I miss you babe :( More and more everyday and I just don't know what to do. All I can do is hold on to all the things I do have to remember you by and you are always and forever in my heart. This week has been the worst!! Never in a million years did I think I wouldn't have you here with me and the year mark threw me back to last year. The pain is unbearable and I still wish this was all one big nightmare. I wake up in the mornings and don't want to get out of bed, and I go to bed at night and can't go to sleep. I'm a mess without you babe!!! I love you babe with all my heart and soul, life isn't the same without you, but I am doing everything you would want to make you proud. Forever and Always Papi!!!
