Firefighters think an electrical problem sparked a fire that killed a young child and forced a teen to jump off the roof of the house to escape.
It happened at about 4am Wednesday at a house at Second Circle and Prospect Avenue in Ashland, KY.
The fire chief said the house went up very quickly, consuming the front of the structure.
Jessica Baldridge and her 12 year old daugher, Madyson Fannin, were able to escape out a back door. 14 year old Chelsea Fannin jumped from the burning roof. She's just now coming out of surgery after fracturing her ankle.
The chief says two firefighers made every effort to get to 3 year old Eli Gilliam, who was trapped in the front bedroom, but they just couldn't get through a wall of flames.
The home is on a crowded cul-de-sac near downtown Ashland.
