West Virginia Man Waives Hearing for 1979 Murder

James "Bubba" Nelson of Rand, waived his arraignment hearing for the 1979 rape and murder of Janet Chandler.

Miss Chandler was a clerk at the Blue Mill Inn in Holland Township Michigan, when she disappeared on January 31, 1979.

Police say Nelson is one of six people, who took her to a house near the inn.

A snowplow driver discovered her body the next day.

A second man from West Virginia is also charged with the rape and murder of Chandler.

Freddie Bass Parker of Powelton is fighting extradition to Michigan.
