Raleigh County Delegate Ron Thompson failed to attend a House Rules Committee meeting Thursday morning.
The full House of Delegates will vote on a resolution to oust Delegate Thompson during Thursday's session.
The House Speaker did receive a fax from Delegate Thompson before the Wednesday's Rules Committee meeting, asking for a delay until March.
The committee endorsed a resolution, declaring the Raleigh County Delegate's seat vacant.
Thompson sent a letter to the House Speaker earlier this month, stating he has not attended any legislative meetings since March because of medical reasons.
